You will be split into working groups with your fellow volunteers to ensure you get to spend
time with all of the animals and get involved with all of the activities.
7.00am Breakfast - help yourself to cereals, tea and toast
8.00am Morning meeting with the volunteer coordinators to plan the day ahead
8.15am Morning activity; one of: enclosure patrol, food preparation, cleaning enclosures
and feeding of the animals, assisting with the school or walking or grooming the caracals.
10.15am Tea break
10.30am Morning activity 2; one of: border patrol, baby baboon walk, Meerkat walk,
sitting with Lucky the cheetah or large carnivore feeding and cheetah time (if possible)
1.00pm Lunch and free time
2.30pm Afternoon activity 1; either food preparation and feeding or farm work
3.30pm Afternoon activity 2; either farm work or a big baboon walk
5.30pm Dinner and free time
7.00pm Baboon baby sitting duties
Volunteers work a half day on Saturdays and are also free to rest and relax on Sundays once
the animals have been fed.
The daily activities and program can vary depending on the number of cars we have available and
the number of the volunteers in each group. Please be prepared to be flexible! You may find
that all volunteers have to carry out farm work on a daily basis.
