Whether your interests lie in helping orphaned or injured African wildlife, researching cheetahs
and leopards or making a difference to the medical welfare and education of the under privileged
Bushman community, N/a‘an ku sê Wildlife Sanctuary is the perfect place for you to live
your dream! There are three projects to choose from:
Wildlife - feeding and caring for our baboons, farm animals,
large carnivores and various other species of African wildlife rehabilitated at the sanctuary.
Research - tracking cheetahs and leopards in the
local area and carrying out game counts as part of our large carnivore conservation and research
project.
Medical - helping the Bushman community in Epukiro
through our Lifeline Clinic.
We also have a three month teaching and wildlife role
for experienced teachers, teaching the Bushman children at our school on the farm in the morning
and working as a wildlife volunteer in the afternoons.
If you have a skill or trade and would like to help our farm manager with the running of the
Sanctuary as well as train our team of San (Bushman workers) you can join us as a
farm work volunteer. This is a fantastic
opportunity to use your skills to improve the lives of the San community as well as make a
difference to the animals that are cared for at our sanctuary. Useful trades we are looking for
include carpenters, plumbers, builders, welders and mechanics.
All you need to do now is decide which of the projects you would like to take part in and how long
to spend in the African wilderness! You can join us for anytime from two weeks to a maximum of
three months and choose one project or a combination depending on how long you are here. You may
also have the opportunity to experience our wild carnivore
tracking project in the beautiful release site of NamibRand Nature Reserve, located in
the south of Namibia.
We welcome volunteers from all across the world aged 18+ to join our projects and no experience or
qualifications are necessary, except for the teaching role. For detailed activities on each of our
projects please visit the relevant section.
